Empowering Researchers: Best Practices in Literature Review and Reference Management for Global Publishing

Friday, 21 June 2024, our public lecture focused on the theme of writing literature reviews and publishing in international journals. The event commenced with an in-depth exploration of the significance of literature reviews in academic research, serving as a foundation to identify knowledge gaps and strengthen scholarly arguments. Facilitated by experts in the field, discussions highlighted effective strategies for crafting comprehensive and critical literature reviews.

Subsequently, from 1pm-4pm, the session shifted focus to the implementation of a “train the trainer” approach for a reference management application. Participants were guided through practical techniques for using the software, aimed at facilitating the search, organization, and citation of references in academic research. The material was delivered through interactive sessions that included live demonstrations and hands-on practice, ensuring participants could confidently master the application.

The public lecture not only provided deep insights into the importance of literature reviews and publishing in international journals but also equipped participants with practical skills directly applicable to their academic and research careers. It is expected that participants will integrate the knowledge and skills gained to enhance the quality of their research and their contributions to the global scholarly community.
